Eli Steel has been riding this model for quite a while, testing it in a variety of waves in his travels around the globe. Eli’s surfing is fast, explosive & powerful so he needs a board that is going to suit these elements. The splinta’s plan shape is quite forgiving while the rails have been lowered to add bite and hold through turns. A medium entry blends all the way through the board to help maintain speed, with a late flip of the tail allowing you to turn sharp and tight. All the concave is in the back end of the board, with the deepest part being right between your feet to maximise speed and lift. All these features make for a great performance shortboard that isn’t going to punish you for catching a rail. Eli’s specs of the two Splinta’s in this clip.
